Tips to win competitions that are chance

There is no magic formula to win chance competitions, if there was, then casinos would all go broke. The good news however is that you can win competitions more often if you learn to adapt to some simple rules. The old adage that you can win competitions by "being in it to win it"? Kind of, but not quite. You may have heard of someone that literally makes a living from competition wins.

That's true, but normally that's promoters, not entrants. Working all day every day at entering competitions could return you a living, but the odds of this are well and truly against you.

Winning competitions that are lotteries is all firstly about improving your odds. Statistically you can improve your odds by entering the same competition more. Enter twice, double the odds. But think in these terms, if a competition allows you to enter more than once, then chances are everyone else is doing it too.

The basic rule of increasing your odds in chance competitions is understanding the odds. You need to be able to determine how to establish the likelihood that competitions you enter have less entries overall. But how do you do that?

We have found over time that the more effort a competition takes to enter, the less entries will be received.

Competitions that receive less entries are generally:

- Skills competitions (but we'll cover these later)
- Competitions that require a purchase of any type to make
- Competitions that combine the above two!
- Better still, competitions that require you to purchase more than one product, but most of all ......
- Competitions that require you to do anything other than just enter.

There's another trick that is the most valuable of all, and that is that some Australian retail stores contain the best odds of all. Great prizes, and less people entering them. This is covered extensively in "Competitions - The Book"

But, as with any formula for winning competitions, it's all over quality rather than quantity.
