Win Competitions

It’s the dream of every entrant to win competitions, right? That’s a fair guess, but often when people take on competitions as a new hobby, it’s thought that the trick to win competitions is simply to enter lots.

Being “in it to win it” isn’t a bad start, however as CompetitionsGuide.com.au recommends, sometimes the ability to win competitions, is all about the online competitions that you enter, followed by how you enter them

When a person first starts taking part in competitions, the tendency is to enter as many competitions as possible. If you have the time to do this, that’s fine, however repeatedly entering competitions can become not only dull, but financially unrewarding.

Everyone has heard at some stage about the person (friend of a friend of a friend) who wins heaps of prizes and in fact makes a living out of competitions. Of course, you can chance a big win somewhere along the way, however even were you to win $20,000 or so in a year of entering competitions, you could probably do better working a part-time job.

Our suggestion is always to take a careful look at the type of competitions you’re entering and establish not only whether it’s actually a prize you would be interested in (you wouldn’t believe the amount of prizes we’ve awarded to people who didn’t really want them in the first place), and whether you have a fair chance of winning.

If you are entering a “chance competition” (one that requires you to simply enter your details) the odds of winning are higher, simply because it’s easy to enter.

If you are entering a “skills competition” (such as a 25 words-or-less competition) your odds of winning are better, but you need to have a strategy to make your entry stand out.

Our rule of thumb is the more difficult competitions are to enter, the better your odds. Difficult however doesn’t always mean using your brain ... in fact, competitions that require you to buy something first receive less entries, and some big name chains have a remarkable track record of receiving the least entries simply because of who they are.

The ability to win competitions isn’t an exact science, however there are ways and means of increasing your chances. Hopefully, being our member will lead you to more and more wins!
