January, the dead zone

It's been a while between blogs on this page, mainly as the last few have been shifted to our 'feedback' page. If CompetitionsGuide.com.au is your only source of competitions, you may not notice that January is a virtual wasteland for comps. We add 5 a day here, so for this site you wouldn't be likely to notice the impact.

The difference is that for most months, we have a gigantic selection to choose from. In January we don't. A competition has a much better chance of being selected for our list that any other month.

The argument from promoters is that January obviously follows the Xmas holidays and can be a bit of a dead zone. But, here's something they may also want to consider. Visits to CompetitionsGuide.com.au do not let up just because it's January. In fact, this month our visits are slightly up from last month!

Given that economics is all about supply and demand, it would make sense for promoters to rethink their plans around January. After all there's nothing better than having the field to yourself.
