Hiding the value

Happy Australia Day to all members, and hate to blog with a whinge, but .......

I have a bit of a bug bear (is that how you spell it?) with some promoters, who have perfectly good competitions, but we can't list them. Our guide has some fairly basic requirements that we want our members to be able to see. And this is as simple as number of prizes, value of prizes, end date .... and whether a purchase is required or not.

Now, there's a lot of competitions happening at any one time, and at CG we try to sort through as many as possible to come up with 5 each and every week day. This is where the annoyance happens, as when reviewing competitions there's only so much time you can spend on each.

A number of good looking competitions fail to list even the basics, meaning we can't list them. Or, to get to the terms and conditions to find the information you need to become a member first. Aside from being against the law, it's ridiculous to expect that someone should join up to a website to see a set of terms and conditions.

But on the whole, it's the laziness that gets me. Putting together a competition can be messy. However, simply allowing new or potential members to see some extremely useful information is vital.

Put simply, if the information isn't there, we won't list it, no matter how good the comp looks. And if we don't list it, unfortunately everyone loses.
