FaceBlock?

I have a FaceBook page, and a number of Competitions Guide members are also linked to me. Do I love FaceBook? Not really, I don't dislike it either, it's just one of those things that are a reality of life and it does give me a good way to communicate. One thing however that I need to advise our members is that it's time to get with the program.

The reason I say this is that many new competitions require FaceBook membership. Some of these competitions shouldn't really demand it, in fact they would be better running the comp on their own sites, however it's up to promoters to run comps in the way that they wish.

I haven't as yet listed a number of FaceBook competitions, and the reason for this is that as I only select 5 comps a day, by listing too many of these I'm blocking those members that don't want to be part of it.

However if this trend continues there's no way that Competitions Guide can avoid listing more and more FaceBook competitions.

One thing I will point out is at the moment many FaceBook fan pages don't have anywhere near the membership that would be representative of a normal competition entry number. If a page has only 2-300 members my advice is that the chance of winning would be quite good.

My job is to point my members in the direction of competitions that represent good odds, and down the track this will be more and more aimed at social media.

I hate facebook competitions
Hi there,

I don't want to have a facebook account. I wish advertisers would stop making competitions specific to facebook users.

Craig, could you please label facebook competitions in the guide?

I agree, I don't like Facebook comps either (I don't like Facebook full stop) but they are becoming more and more prevalent of late, so I have reluctantly decided I will have to join the Facebook phenomena as it doesn't look like it's going to go away ... Good point too, Craig re. good odds of winning on Facebook comps depending on how many members on the FB page.
