I don't care about spam ... but

CompetitionsGuide.com.au Stories

It's true, I don't really care either way about spam, it's one of those things I've become used to. Although, being in my game I have to confess that occasionally Competitions Guide gets accused of being a spam merchant, however the fact of life is entering comps will increase your email folder and it's something we never shy away from.

The annoying thing to me is that so many emails that I actually want to get still find their way into my spam box, even when I try to tell my various email accounts that they are legitimate. But it seems that once an email provider decides to make a decision for you, it's done.

When every I respond to emails I often have to remove (SPAM) from the subject line, which can be tedious and embarrassing if I forget to.

Even more annoying is that the same email providers seem to be more lenient with emails that shouldn't even see the light of day. Deep in my heart I know that the Pfizer corporation would not employ someone by the nickname of "Hot Pole" to run their official Viagra international sales. But, with a subject line such as "she'll be begging for more, bro" ..... that seems to be sufficient to let through.

Yet, my accountant who bizarrely uses her own name, and subject lines such as "quarterley statement" winds up in the bin.

Maybe I should start addressing Competitions Guide emails more descriptively?

Yours Comp-letely,

Craig 2/3/10
