They can put a man on the moon, but .....

I'm never short of topics to blog about it, but the subject of prize choice is never far away.

Prizes aren't really rocket science (no pun intended on this topic), and I've tackled this one on more than a few occasions, usually with over-zealous promoters who want to go out of their way to be wild n' crazy.

Today, the Daily Telegraph are offering the chance to win a real life replica space suit. Great, you may say .... actually, I don't think you'll say that at all. You see, I've always advocated going for less popular competitions to increase your chances of winning, but the prize needs to be moderately wanted.

Yes, the moon landing is historical. I was there to see it, although at 4 years of age I don't really recall much of it. Do I want or need an almost 8 feet tall model of the device that kept the astronauts from suffocating?

Even the most dedicated of space buffs would be feeling the pinch when it came to displaying the thing. And, added to this it's not even the real thing!

Shouldn't be too harsh, the Tele and associated papers have come up with some cracking prizes over the past years.

This, ain't one of them!
