And then went on with the letter as though he'd stopped for a commercial break. The application was cast aside, and left me wondering as to whether Macca's has actually paid people to apply for jobs, throw in the odd line or two and hope the resume gets read around lunch time.

Possibly (more likely not), but I think the likelihood is we're all so hung up on standing out, being different and creating a wow impression. Even if it's plain dumb, I wouldn't be blogging about it now if it had been your normal application.

Case in point, many will read the above, think it ludicrous that someone would ever dare to pull a stunt such as this, and then go and write a words or less answer than defies belief.

My advice is to where possible be "creatively uncreative". Be a little out there, but not so much that you fall off the balcony in the process. You may not stand out as much as burger-guy, but hey, chances are you'll survive the shredder as well.

And no, I haven't been paid to write this blog :)
