Our new name ... the verdict is?

I was very nervous last Friday, after 5 years of operating what has been a successful brand was about to change. The change from ShoppersBonus.com.au to CompetitionsGuide.com.au will never be as widely discussed as say iSnack 2.0 (no kidding!) but I don't own shares in Kraft, so ............

As you may have read in our homepage articles, Shoppers Bonus as a name and concept was becoming less and less relevant to a website that is totally dedicated to competitions. Over time we have trialled shopping offers, even finance offers and various other things, but none have taken off.

Our research showed us that we were calling ourselves a guide, but had little guide content.

Feedback to the actual name change. Very little, in fact almost insignificant.

But, we have had some very strong and positive feedback both the the increase in amount of competitions listed. Better still, the reaction to the homepage articles has been overwhelming. I sometimes forget that the true point of difference is that this website is put together by someone who has actually worked behind the scenes, and the new articles have been a great reminder.

Though the numbers say it all. The last 7 days have been our highest ever, in terms of visits to the site. Yesterday was the second biggest visitation ever, beaten only by our That's Life mention in last June. I don't think for a minute that people are visiting us more just because of a name change, but people are seeing our name in search engines and giving us a chance.
