The Australian Apprentice not firing

Speaking of competitions (which I sometimes get around to :) Up until a little while ago I thought that Foxtel IQ was potentially one of the greatest inventions of the past century (second only to the Swap n' Go gas bottle refill services). Then, last night as sometimes happens, my IQ clipped the last 5 minutes of The Apprentice Australia .... now it's Wednesday, and I haven't even bothered to find out who got fired.

I'm finding the new series of The Apprentice Australia a bit flat. Thursday nights are a must for me, and have been for the past year or so, but this is to watch the UK version.

To me, Sir Alan Sugar is a compelling task master, and it's hard to replicate elsewhere. I think Sir Alan is far better than the original Boss, Donald Trump. Don't get me wrong, Mark Bouris is a hugely respected businessman, it's just that when it comes to TV not all things translate.

Maybe it's just Australians, but we're very nice and polite. The UK contestants are brutal and this makes for compelling viewing. Nice is good, but I would rather see this on the fluffy animals stories at the end of the news.

At the beginning of the last UK Apprentice series, BBC Knowledge accidently showed the winner in a documentary before the series even started. Even knowing the winner still made the series exciting.

I don't know who's going to win the Australian Apprentice, and unfortunately, I don't really care.
